One of the songs the kids sang is called Adore Him. This song really spoke to me these past 2 weeks as we listened to our CD and I watch the children practice. The lyrics speak of what everyone was expecting- a Royal King, the most honored of this world. Yet God sent a baby. To a peasant girl. In a humble village town. No throne. Just a stall. No crown. Yet a throne of grace. And still they bowed down and worshiped Him. The One they had longed for. The One they had been waiting for. Expectations turned to mystery. Yet they placed their gifts before Him and adored Him!
As all the hustle and bustle of Christmas time surrounds us, I have continually prayed that our children will Adore Him. I want our children to experience the "magic" of this time of year, but at the same time worship the One that was sent to save the world. The other song the children sang spoke of this very thing. The grand plan God had when he sent his Son, Jesus, as a baby to one day save the world.
"He made a way in a manger,
a way through the Son.
Messiah, the prophet, before time had begun.
For God so loved the world.
And He knew what Love would cost.
He made a way in a manger, to make a way to the cross."
I think these songs even spoke to Avery. And for that I am truly thankful!
